If you\u2019ve ever watched Pok\u00e9mon episodes from the US made in the late 90s\/early aughts (or Sailor Moon<\/em>, One Piece<\/em>, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em> or Grave Of The Fireflies<\/em>) you\u2019re familiar Veronica Taylor\u2019s work. Tom Regan spoke to Veronica Taylor for Kotaku<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just really liked the colour and the energy,\u201d recalls Taylor, with an infectious smile. \u201cWe watched a tiny Japanese snippet and then had to get our voice as close as we could to that character. There was no practising ahead of time, no reading the script \u2013 you just came in, watched for about three minutes on a loop and took your shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Playing both a concerned mother and a determined child, the pregnant Taylor found herself channelling a weirdly existential energy in the booth\u2014and it paid off. The last-minute audition she\u2019d just nailed? Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
