This investment property in Cannon Hill has just sold for $1.37m.

RETIRED AFL player Pearce Hanley has made a profit offloading his Brisbane investment property, but admits he should have sold at the peak of the market.

The 34-year-old has just sold a five-bedroom, three-bedroom house on 718 sqm at 35 Dorothea St, Cannon Hill, for $1.37m.

Records show Hanley paid $840,000 for the property in April 2015 and has made no improvements to it since.

The replica Queenslander was last listed for rent for $730 a week in 2019.

Inside, the kitchen, living and dining area is open-plan.

It features a modern, self-contained granny flat downstairs, a storage shed, and a double lock-up garage.

Hanley said he was not in a rush to sell the home and did not even put it officially on the market, but was happy with the sale price.

“I probably missed the peak time to sell, but the price is close to what I wanted,” he said.

The Queenslander has a large, entertaining deck at the back.

Shannon Harvey of Place Estate Agents negotiated the sale after bringing some tenants through the property.

Hanley said this was his second investment property, after selling one on the Gold Coast and using the money from that sale to invest in his current business venture, Body Fit Training, which uses AFL fitness knowledge to develop its programs.

The property comes with a self-contained granny flat and a storage shed.

Now based on the Gold Coast, he recently opened a branch in Tweed Heads.

And he also has plans to buy more property in the near future.

“I’ll see how the market goes,” he said. “I think I’ll wait six months and try and buy a bit later in the year.”

After 169 AFL games spanning 14 years at the Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns, Hanley chose to hang up the boots at the end of 2020, saying his run of injuries had dulled his passion for playing at the top level.
