Ous Property agent Matt Plumridge, who is selling the property with Laz Ouslinis, said pools like this were rare in SA, making it a special feature.

“It’s certainly not something you see every day,” he said.

While a highlight, Mr Plumridge said it wasn’t the only standout feature of the 103-year-old home.

He said the original part of the house was built in 1920, a third level was built in 2017 and the current owners purchased it in 2019 before doing an extensive renovation.

“When they bought it, it was essentially a timber structure with the plans for it,” Mr Plumridge said.

“The owners put their heart and soul into it.”

Terence and Cindy McAssey lived in a rental property with their children while they renovated it over a few years.

Mr McAssey, a builder, said they used the plans that came with the house but tweaked them.

“It’s come up really nice,” he said.

“It wasn’t our intention to sell, we thought we’d keep this and enjoy it.

“We’re going to be sad of course because it’s just a dream house.”

On the ground floor, there is a double garage that leads down to a service area with a wine rack against the original brick of the home.

Upstairs, two bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite and balcony, are at the front half of the house, while the main living area with kitchen that leads out to an alfresco area and the pool are at the rear.

The top level is dedicated to the main bedroom – an ensuite, bedroom and living area all blend seamlessly into one before extending onto a balcony with teppanyaki bar and ocean views.

“The sunsets of late have just been fantastic,” Mr McAssey said.

He said it was too difficult to choose just one favourite feature of the home.

“The swimming pool, it’s just amazing,” he said.

“When you walk into the house, that’s the focal point.

“We’ve got LED strip lighting under the kitchen cabinetry as well – when it gets dark, the place takes on another dimension.”

Mr Plumridge said it was already attracting strong interest, particularly from interstate.

Offers for the home close at noon on August 8, unless it’s sold prior.
