Source Node: 887921

Growing marijuana from seeds can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Just follow these simple steps and you’ll be growing your own cannabis in no time!

Step 1: Decide what type of seeds you want.

If it’s your first time growing we recommend using autoflowering seeds. These seeds are on automatic, so no matter where you’re growing them, they will automatically go into flowering without you having to adjust lighting schedules.

Types of Seeds

Type of Seeds Ease of Growth Description
Autoflowering Easy Automatic flowering, just plant, water and wait.
Feminized Seeds Medium These seeds are for intermediate growers, you will have to trigger the flowering stage unless growing outside.
Regular Seeds Hard These seeds are the hardest to grow because they are not all female seeds, which means that you have a 50/50 chance of getting a male plant, which are only great for breeding.

You also have to decide what strain to get, if high THC is your thing, here are our recommendations:

Step 2: Decide where you want to grow.

Do you want to grow indoors or outdoors? Depending on your answer you’ll want to choose one strain over the other.

If you want to grow outdoor, check out this chart to find seeds that will grow now in your climate. If you want to use autoflowering seeds, this is not a big concern, just make sure the temperature is not too cold or too hot for the seeds you choose. Step 3: Germinate your seeds!

Now that you’ve gotten your seeds discreetly delivered to your home thanks to our super-stealth shipping, it’s time to germinate your seeds.

Germinating your seeds is a key part of the process, luckily AMS seeds boasts one of the highest germination rates in the industry. We recommend the paper towel method, which is quick and easy.

Healthy sprout, healthy plant!

paper towel method Step 1: First, dampen a paper towel with distilled water and put it on a plate.

Then cover the plate iwth another plate. You can use a rubber band to make sure the plates are tight, so moisture does not evaporate. Put the plates with the seeds in a warm place.

When the taproots are 1-2cm long (not more) then it’s time to plant your seeds. One your seeds have germinated, plant them in your soil of choice. You will get better results if your soil is aerated, meaning that it’s fluffy and light, not compact and heavy.

Step 4: Vegetative & Flowering Stages

The vegetative phase is when your plant does the most growing, the plant focuses it’s energy on growing roots, branches, stem and leaves . The flowering state is when the plant focuses its energy on growing big fat buds (flowers) If you chose autoflowering seeds you don’t have to worry about switching the plant from vegetative to flowering phases, it will do so automatically.

If you did not choose autoflowering seeds, you will have to trigger the flowering stage. The plant will start to flower when the days get shorter in the autumn. If your plants are outside, it will flower as seasons change. If they are indoor plants, simply switch the light schedule to 12 hours or darkness and 12 hours of light and your plant will start to flower.
