2019 stats: 66 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 4 passes defended, 1 touchdown

Holland was able to prove he was one of the best safeties in the country during his time at Oregon. He is now one of the top safety prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft.

As a four-star prospect out of California, Holland decided to head north to play for the Ducks. He immediately made an impact as a freshman with 42 total tackles, five interceptions and six passes defended. His play helped Oregon win nine games, including the Redbox Bowl. He was one of the best safties in the country as a sophomore with 66 total tackles, four interceptions and four passes defended. Holland helped boost the Ducks to a 12-win season and a victory in the Rose Bowl.

After a great 2019 season, Holland decided to opt out of the 2020 season. He is currently projected to be a second to fourth round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Strengths

Holland is a unique defensive back in that he can play anywhere in the secondary. He is best when he is a deep safety, but he can also play in the box. In addition to that, he can also play nickel corner or even outside corner. Defensive coordinators who love having chess pieces to move around cand find a variety of ways to utilize Holland.

He is specifically good in zone coverage at the backend of the defense. Holland uses his eyes to read the quarterback, while also keeping an eye on the receiver so that he doesn’t give up too much separation. Because of his solid eye discipline in these scenarios he is able to make plays on the ball and cover his zone effectively.

His ball skills will be among the best in the class for a safety. He uses his eyes well and tracks the ball in the air. After seeing where the ball is going to come in at, Holland attacks the catch point very well. Not only can he swat the ball down, but he can pick it off too. His nine career interceptions in two seasons played are impressive and once he has the bal lin his hands, he is a threat to return it for a touchdown.

Weaknesses

His speed and range may not be up to par for the NFL level. Holland is good in zone because of his eyes, but he also could struggle to keep up with NFL athletes. In man coverage, if he starts to get beat, he doesn’t have the greatest recovery speed.

While he does a good job of being aggressive in run support, Holland does miss some tackles in the open field. He can allow broken tackles and at times can just miss them completely. Holland needs to focus on bringing the ball carrier down with a good form tackle to improve.

There were times where Holland can struggle when covering tight ends. He has trouble matching up with their size and physicality in coverage. A lot of NFL safeties are asked to cover tight ends, but that may not go so well for Holland at the next level.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
