Mike Tyson Puts BTC and ETH in the Ring, Altcoins Appear

In a legendary move, professional boxer — Mike Tyson, tweets a post that sent the crypto community into a frenzy. The tweet, specifically, was a simple question. Mike Tyson asked the world which crypto they prefer — BTC or ETH?

This tweet ignited an interesting conversation between crypto fans and other users on the platform. While some chose Bitcoin (BTC), others chose Ether (ETH). But they all had different reasons behind their choices.

Some chose Bitcoin as it was the pioneer. Others said Bitcoin is Gold while Ethereum is Oil. Some say the demand for oil could always change but the demand for gold will never drop. Others claim otherwise.

All in all, hodlers either believe in the technology behind these cryptos or view them as a store of value. Hence, each crypto has their own purpose and therefore, attract different fans and active users.  

As for other comments, one stood out and called cryptos a scam and said they prefer using ‘real money’. On the other hand, a lot of replies supported multiple other altcoins. For instance, Cardano (ADA) and Dogecoin (DOGE) both got plenty of notice.

Meanwhile, to correspond with the replies, other notable figures in the industry also seem to be sharing the same sentiments. In particular, the founders of Gemini said Ethereum is Digital Oil and that its price will soon surpass $10,000.

Suffice to say, this could very much be a possibility as the Ethereum network, even with all of its congestion issues, is still quite popular. It is, remarkably, the king of the DeFi space and is seen as the backbone for all NFTs. Also, with the imminent arrival of Ethereum 2.0, it has already hit 6 million in staked ETH. More so, at the moment, it is showing bullish signs amid the London hard fork launch.

In contrast, Bitcoin may not have a lot going on in terms of DApps and NFT’s but it is still the pioneer in crypto. It also has a limited supply, which means, its demand will eventually beat out its supply. At which point, the price and value of Bitcoin will skyrocket. This is why analysts are expecting the price of BTC to surpass $100,00 soon.
