Pokimane says she has received “a lot” of lucrative offers to leave OfflineTV and join esports or gaming organisations, but the Twitch star refuses to accept any of them for a very personal reason.
In particular, 100 Thieves has been snatching up content creators left and right, signing Fuslie, Kydae, and most recently TinaKitten, first reported by Dexerto.
The orgs employ a plethora of streamers. TSM has a slew of big names, like Myth and Doublelift. Chess sisters Alexandra and Andrea Botez joined Envy, and NRG just unveiled Daequan and Hamlinz, who have been out in the cold for a year, as their newest signings.
Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, one of Twitch’s biggest stars, has signed a deal with the gaming organisation Luminosity Gaming, though it’s barely mentioned on his channel layout.
Even though she’s received “a lot of offers” from multiple teams, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, a popular Twitch streamer, isn’t interested in signing a major contract with an esports organisation.
Twitch’s esports diva says she has no desire to join an organisation dedicated to the sport. Twitch’s stream queen claims she has no desire to join an esports organisation.
Soon after TinaKitten confirmed her big move on September 16, the Twitch star got onto the subject of orgs (and her ambivalence towards joining one). While Anys expressed her happiness for her friend, she was quick to deny rumours that she would be moving to 100 Thieves or anywhere else in the near future.
“It would make me feel overextended. If I commit myself to something, I want to give it everything I’ve got. I don’t want to be half-involved in anything.
If she joins an org, Pokimane is worried that the responsibilities will “stretch her too thin.”
For the time being, it appears as though Pokimane will stick with OfflineTV — which is also a hugely popular Twitch streaming organisation — rather than any other external offers.
That strategy appears to be working for Anys as well, as she has nearly 8.2 million Twitch followers and is one of the most popular content creators on the platform. Despite only being on the site for a short time, she has accumulated 7.2k subscribers for the month of September.
She recently took a break from Twitch to help her “reset” from burnout, but on September 8, she returned bigger and better than ever.
