When the press release for a game contains the words “radical”, “awesome” and “booyah” all in one sentence, you know you’re looking at something special.
That something special is The Big Con, a 90s-inspired adventure game that’s coming to PC and Xbox consoles this summer. Developed by Mighty Yell and published by Skybound Games, it sees players take on the role of Ali. She’s a teenage con artist and, when she learns that her family’s video store is about to be lost to loan sharks, she sets out to do whatever she can to save it.
As you play through The Big Con, expect to pick pockets, go undercover in disguises, use your best persuasion skills, and try your hand at various get-rich-quick schemes – like buying into the latest plushie fad. Because this was the 90s. Beanie Babies were cool.

As you can see from the trailer below, the game sports an excellent animated art style reminiscent of 90s cartoons. This looks like a game that doesn’t take itself seriously in any sense of the word; it’s all about having fun. And we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
The Big Con has no set release date outside of “this summer”. We’ll follow up with more news once we have it. It’ll be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. You can show your support by wishlisting it on Steam right now.
