The Biggest Loser – Loser Takes None* Tournament

Most tournaments try to crown a champion. We aim to find out, given a set of players, who is the best of the lot. But what if our goal wasn’t to find the best, but the worst player?

The Biggest Loser

This is a $1001 USD tournament featuring 8 top notch StarCraft 2 players with a different format. The event will be a single elimination, best of 5 bracket, as per usual but with one catch.

Rather than have the winner advance on to the next round and the loser drop out of the event…the loser is the one who advances on and the winner is done with the event. But the further you advance in the bracket, the less money you’ll make so you want to win an exit the bracket as fast as possible.

Prize pool distribution
Win in ro8 round: $200
Win in semi-finals: $75
Win in grand finals: $50
Lost every match: $1 & join clan [iLost] on every server for a month

When and where
The event will be run and hosted by Harstem over at:
https://www.twitch.tv/harstem
Round of 8: Thursday, Jun 24 3:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
Semis & Finals: Friday, Jun 25 3:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)

Hope to see you there!

Getting to see the most games from the players that lose the most is such a nice inversion of how things are usually.

Please use a non-ladder map pool for this, I love it.

Won’t this just lead to both players trying to destroy their own cc as fast as possible?

No. You still want to win your games to get out of the tournament fastest (and with the most money).

Haha that’s clever, and with a very nice line-up! Can’t wait to watch them try to exit the bracket 😀
