Do I expect to be a septuagenarian millionaire? In my most secret of classified files that is one document. But I don’t expect that. Which, of course, is all part of my Grand Strategy for making it happen. I’ll saunter along here, keeping my hands off the till and pretending I don’t care what happens in there.
That way if it all goes completely to the bottom of the sea I can shrug. See? I figured that might happen, I’ll say with a wry smile.
But having wasted my working career in simply paying the bills so I could write in peace, I have no fat 401k sitting there ready for me to, ahem, retire. And, yes, I do play the lottery now that you ask. $14 every week on two sets of numbers with the express goal of hitting just enough to send Sallie Mae packing. My God, what a relief and pleasure that would be.
And, sure enough, the old one-step-back-two-steps forward pattern is reestablishing itself. My funny money TV show is entertaining and it will remain a fave as long as I don’t mistake it for reality.
Until the day I cash in. Of course.
