For web augmented reality (webAR) to reach its full potential and become widely adopted, content creation needs to be made as easy as possible, says Blippar chief product officer Ambarish Mitra in the latest issue of VRWorldTech Magazine.

The latest issue of VRWorldTech Magazine, which was published in August, is dedicated to content creation and the tools at the disposal of enterprise and immersive technology-focused companies.

In an exclusive interview, Mitra focuses on webAR and the work Blippar is doing through its studio on behalf of enterprise customers, as well as its own content creation tool, Blippbuilder.

Mitra believes ease of creation will play a key role in taking webAR beyond early adopters and experts.

“That transition is happening right now,” he explains. “But for webAR to reach its full potential, what I define as the new 3D internet, where the 2D screen reflects the real world as much as possible, the creation side needs to be very easy.”

WebAR content creation needs to be low code to no code for this to happen, according to Mitra, meaning the technical ability required to carry it out is minimal.
