May starts with GMC, General Motors’ premium division, revealing what it’s calling the “next evolution in the off-road truck segment.” The brand’s Sierra heavy-duty model is suited up for the back country and will not only feature the AT4X model its but also its more upscale iteration, the AT4X AEV Edition.

These near-luxury full-size heavy haulers bring in big bucks for the brand and its parent company so the debut is an important one and we’ll have all the details Monday at 9 a.m.

Later in the day, TheDetroitBureau.com will chronicle how well the automaker’s performed in April as they begin to report sales. Early indications are there will be another uptick for the industry.

That’s not the last of the industry’s numbers. In fact, the sales reporting be followed by another round of earnings reports. 

This time Ford leads off, releasing its financials just after the market closes on Tuesday, May 2. Company CEO Jim Farley will lead a conference call for analysts and investors that evening. The final Detroit automaker, Stellantis follows Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. to tell us how it performed through the first three months of 2023. We’ll also sit in on the company’s call to get the insights about the business from CEO Carlos Tavares.
